{A Salvaged Relative in a modified costume for a Prince. (After Natalia Goncharova, costume for Adolph Bohm with 'essence d'orient pearls' (and a Finch), from Sadko, 1916.)}
{A Salvaged Relative in a fragment of costume for a corps de ballet dancer from Ode, 1928.}
As our collaged characters settle in to their new homes as part of the exhibition Good Mail Day (opening Friday the 7th of November at artstream studios, Dover, New Hampshire), it is perhaps timely to see them also move in a frame. Shoehorned into 9-seconds on instagram, fifty-odd scenes set to Gymnopédie No 3 and bird song for your amusement. To those of you planning to attend the opening, please allow this to serve as a precursor to the exhibition. And to those of you who cannot for reasons of geography or otherwise, let this visual tease whet the appetite for a forthcoming zine.
Coming soon to our online store, in the next handful of days, a charm of Louise's first-inked Plum-headed finches and a pocket-sized zine of these very characters in their modified costumes from the Ballet Russes rich tapestry of amazement.
More soon.
{Salvaged Relatives and Bird Calls, a small collage of moving parts (from a forthcoming zine).}
{Good Mail Day, curated by Lisa Solomon and Susan Schwake, takes pleasing shape and Louise and I wish we could be there in person.}
And should you hunger for more movement, may I present Lenni and the Organic Matter and Percy and the Primitive Object (a little like a levitating food dish).
