{Wet whiskers drying, Art Almanac, October 2013}
That which took years to make, months to plan, and days to install will pack up in a matter of hours into a shoebox and a couple of large folios. 500-plus works will leave 1000-plus holes in the gallery wall. But let us not be hasty. There are still a handful of days before the putty and paint comes out. All breathing in heaven is on until Sunday the 13th of October. Come Monday morning, the circus prepares to roll out of town.
Thank-you to all those who’ve been to see the exhibition, and for the kind words cooed in the ear. Thank-you to those who came along to hear our talk, and celebrated at the opening. Thank-you to all at Geelong Gallery for making our Purple-throated Sunbirds, African Elephants, Four-striped Grass Mice, Rough-tailed Giant Rats, and Congo Water Civets feel so at home these past months. Thank-you to all involved in all parts of the giddy process and its contortions, to our family and friends, and to Stephen for suggesting we three exhibit together in the first place. Truly, couldn't have hoped for more.
