Geelong region artists program
Geelong Gallery, Little Malop Street, Geelong
This time last week, in the last of the day’s light, we drove home from Geelong Gallery feeling that curious blend of elated and tired. This time last week, we had finished installing our work and save final gallery signage, all was ready to be declared open on the Saturday. We stopped at the service station near to Avalon airport and celebrated with a packet of crisps as dusk fell. Contented silence took possession of the car as we were each of us lost to our thoughts about what had transpired these past few days. You’ll not be surprised if I tell you that it feels much longer than one week ago. Nor will you be surprised if I tell you that I miss this period spent in the gallery's hull with tools in hand. Dancing with ladders, tweaking corners, smoothing labels, and checking things twice. Little can compare.
{Preparing once more to visit the empty home near to forgotten.}
{In wait at Lavender Bay.}
{Blending in.}
{Foreseeing a conclusion in Killarney.}
