{Photos taken by Shelley McDermott, Latrobe Regional Gallery. (Thanks Shelley.)}
A fortnight ago, Louise and I drove to Morwell to give a talk about our work. These photos, taken by Shelley McDermott, show us in full gestured swing, chatting about how we build books, manipulate postcards, formulate collage, and carve free birds from paper sheet. We spoke, too, of the role of the animal, that character ever present that runs, scuttles, cartwheels through the scene that could be me, could be you, could be anyone of us. Hop in the shoes of another; how do they fit? And we spoke of using existing books ‘rescued’ from dark life lived previous inside dusty box where the silverfish nibble. We spoke pretty much until hoarse.
+ Thank-you to everyone who came along to hear us talk about our work and our working process. We felt most welcome.
+ We are two chatterboxes
+ Our exhibition is on for another fortnight. Those so inclined, it remains as you see above for two weeks more and then we pack it all away in many boxes (protected from those nocturnal feasters, silverfish from the family Lepismatidae).
