On Sunday, Gracia and I had a little time to dream and plan as we mapped out on the floor (of the hall we normally take a yoga class in), the desired hang for our part of a forthcoming group exhibition. Two walls, and one corner suggested by a dividing yellow tape measure line. One wall slightly longer in length. Both walls in loose mirror to one another, like an inkblot were you to press the walls together. My Great Auks feature and costumes from the Ballet Russes appear (including the costume for Petrouchka c 1911). Toucans on postcard collages (not yet affixed) crop up, as we unfurl brand new collaged artists' books. Works are added to the mix. And some works are taken out. This is a part of the process where things become much clearer. We can see what needs to be done.
Lest you missed the previews we shared on instagram as we worked, here is a summary. A taste of what is to come in May.
And here is how we got to this point: The Working Process (as a brief flipagram)
