Setting up work as part of an exhibition is always the best bit. It is when you get to see everything come together in a different context. Here is a little look at G and me setting up our artists' books at Maroondah Art Gallery yesterday in a sea of Jazmina Cininas blue. Our plinth, to us, looked like an iceberg in reverse with its blue top and white sides. And it was so exciting to see Gracia's new books in place and not worrying about getting them under the press. This time, I got to 'see' them.
Draw Me A Story features five of our artists’ books, three of which are brand new collaged artists’ books by Gracia.
As Inclination Directs (2013)
Sleeping During the Day (2010)
Under the water, with a two-coloured eye-glass, something similar (2014)
The Loon of Swan Hill seeks an audience (2014)
As if from the clouds, restless (2014)
Come along today to the opening, should you be free. It's from 2pm through until 4pm, and we'll have a small zine stand too in the foyer. Come and say hello. Percy, who wont be at the opening, greatly wishes he could. He loves to meet a new face and is particularly fond of little ones close to his height.
