Instagram remains still the easiest way for me to share, here on Elsewhere, a little of the things I get up to day and night. Today, a taste of the recent The Australian Ballet 50th Anniversary Gala that I was lucky enough to see two nights in one week. The first time on the Wednesday evening with my Mum and the second time with G on the Friday night. (I'm eagerly anticipating reading what G writes about this one. She tells me it is sure to be monstrously long.)
You can watch the performance I saw on the Friday night replete with stage fireworks and flowers and brilliant performances by both international guests and The Australian Ballet on the ABC at 3pm today (or on iView afterwards). Harald Lander's Etudes, the wedding pas de deux from Don Quixote, the White Swan pas de deux, the bedroom pas de deux from Manon, a little Elvis Presley, Giselle and more all feature and you are in for a treat, I assure you.
(In addition, ballet fans, you can also watch Artscape's Swan Lake: The Australian Ballet at 50 on iView too.)
After the Friday performance concluded and we ambled across the bridge, we saw the last ten or so minutes of the live (though slightly delayed) telecast at Fed Square. All in all, a wonderful celebration.
(Thank-you so much to The Australian Ballet for the guest ticket to Friday's performance. It was a magical evening and the performance gave me goosebumps from start to finish. What a high!)
