Sunday's fair was fun and I was heartened by the kind comments people offered about my bird drawings, and Gracia and my work. So delighted by the experience, I drew a common duck in my sketchbook later that night. As G mentioned, there is little of the commonplace in my duck. He looks singular and distinguished.

Nymphicus hollandicus is a bird of Australia’s dry interior. It resembles a parakeet but its DNA shows it is a miniature cockatoo. For me, I love their orange cheeks best of all.
