Today I spent a bit of time reading a few more chapters of "The Weather Makers" and later found a good interview with the author, Tim Flannery, here... It's a quicktime recording and goes for what seems like hours, but if you have the patience to fast forward along to somewhere around the half way point on the line, you'll stumble across the interview which continues on until the end of the recording.
For the rest of the day I continued working on my set of motorbike drawings, focusing on my favourite - the motorcross/enduro/off road species. This one is particularly lovely... It's a 2006, Husqvarna WR 250: Enduro.
It has features like re-calibrated Marzocchi forks, adjustable handlebars which allow the rider to find the ideal perfect riding position, digital instrumentation, re-calibrated Sachs shock absorber at the rear, V-Force reed valve system on the 250 cc engine and an inlet manifold between the cylinder and the airbox. I'm not exactly sure what all of those things mean but I think they sound fantastic!
And if you think the hoon in me and the environmentalist just don't gel then I guess you'd be right. But as I don't have a real bike and all this riding around is just in my imagination then it's not a big problem.
