Good news. Good news.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
Percy is HOME!
He was found a couple of doors from home yesterday and was taken to the local vets (just before close of business by some kind soul named 'Wal') where he spent the night at their kennels in comfort. He enjoyed a breakfast with nurses who declared him a Sweetie, such was he anguish.
Now, with adventurous rotter on lead (securely), we are going to take down the posters that wallpaper the local poles and posts.
So happy he is home. And so happy there is a happy outcome to report. What a long 18 hours that was. What a long and sleepless night.
Thank-you everyone for all your help with the search for Perce. Thank-you for your love, concern, good thoughts, and offers to canvas the local area, for your candles lit, and your retweets. Thank-you to the people we met as we searched and called for him in the rain. Thank-you to Chris and her dog Tiny for combing the lanes and backstreets with us as midnight approached. Thank-you to the film crew stationed at the park's edge who felt confident the Harry Houdini of the dog world would return. Thank-you to 'Wal', whoever you may be. Thank-you dear parents and friends who shared our distress and bolstered our spirits. Thank-you, dear and wonderful all.
Here's to the happy ending. And to those tangled up in own search for a beloved lost dog, puss, rabbit, cockatiel... we hope you too hear good news and soon.
XO
