{One of twenty-eight Whose lights were now seen glittering collages by Gracia & Louise.}
Today, in between collecting my thoughts about books and collage, and trying to make them, the thoughts, transform into words and then from there hold their position on the page, I am taking you once more to Von Haus where, until the end of July, you can see in the cabinet cosmos collages with familiar painterly landscape. The day is a sunny winter’s day, and we are with Leah of Milly Sleeping, tap, tap, tapping with a hammer and nail a series of prints to a central panel. These prints can be purchased from Milly Sleeping’s Carlton store, which, for the duration of LookStopShop, has an array of our recent zines available too.
And of zines, there are two new ones a-coming. One to be released tomorrow (Come on, Lady Luck) and delivered to Milly Sleeping Carlton. It features all twenty-eight collages from the Whose lights were now seen glittering series. It will, over weekend’s course, appear on our online store too, for those of you further afield or at loss for adventure time with map (Explorers Map PDF). The other zine I speak of is one that draws ever nearer. It is the oft referred to nighttime zine we are making with Hila. It will soon take more fixed a shape and it includes elements of La Belle Époque.
{How, in part, things came together. With Louise and Leah and me. For Hidden Gems & Rough Diamonds.}
+ Thanks, Leah, for your kind words. One could get used to being referred to as “the lovely, and very fastidious and patient”, and it is especially nice to see those golden finches in their box as delivered for we were remiss in taking a photo of this favourite step of ours. Packaging up something complete! The bliss of it!
+ A Charm of Finches is a handsome collective noun, we agree.
+ Upon the wall, shadow play in the afternoon.
+ Congratulations Hila!
Next up, finches gold.
