Something from Monday, something for Tuesday.

A Monday not spent by the computer.
The start of a new week falls on soggy heels. It’s been raining of late and the garden has been drinking it in. The herbs are standing tall as a result and the bird-feeder holds a pool of brown water. Inside, wet washing hangs and I have many things to do, what better reason could there be for tinkering on the computer, eyes forward?

A new project, inspired in part by Camilla’s Organized Collection and my willingness to play along, has resulted in another zine tumbling off the photocopier this weekend. Small Collection is a sixteen-page zine that features many of the new collages you have been seeing here and on flickr of late. Hand-stitched spine in coloured threads by Louise, this zine also includes a few rogue collage elements too.

Should the clouds clear, I’ll post a few photos. Until then, here’s a collage not featured in the zine for it came into being after the photocopier spat out the various colour and black & white pages.

Tuesday, early evening and by the computer.
Today, for all steps forward I seem to have gone in the other direction. Camera chips are proving bothersome (eating files, most mysterious, most frustrating), cats are mewing and circling my legs, and I had such high hopes of listing this zine on our shop and etsy store. It seems not to be. Here, until I do, are a few photos of the zine which survived the technical munching.

It was a pleasure to stitch... and it looks like those hours and hours you spent collaging individual elements to each zine has paid off. It looks terrific!

gracia, that is a very exciting promise of a publication... perhaps I should take out a subscrition to your zines! with best from rainy london to rainy melbourne, lottie xx

Subscriptions sound fabulous! Count me in. What a shame for the technical troubles and loses! I love your new collages also. xx

No wonder they got munched... they look delicious!

i haven't been 'round these parts much (by that, i simply mean the internet) and have only just come back full force-- and to find this! so very beautiful. i'm with lottie on the subscription idea. i love the cover (the vertical lines, oh!) and all of that rich colour. megxx

love the new collage and the zine...
mmmmm

Gracia,

This is a beautiful zine. I recognise some of the collage elements. The stitching is also beautiful!

Looks beautiful!

Love seeing those mini artworks on the stripey background along with louises coloured strings. xx

oh my. must have one. beautiful. xox

It all looks so beautiful. Well done.

It looks like a treasures, did you use a cahier stitch? Wonderful x

Thank you so much, dear ones. So happy to hear that you like the look of this here new zine.

I am happy to be able to share it with you here and, to those of you who picked up a copy through our store and etsy, I have them all wrapped up and ready to go out in the post tomorrow... with a few added things thrown in for good measure (things I had every good intention of sending to you for Christmas but never quite got around to doing so. Plans to send delights in the New Year also fell by the wayside, so what better chance then now, a chance to tuck in a few trinkets and handmade items alongside your zine order).

This Collection zine was a joyous one to compile and put together, adding in collage elements on various pages. Expect to find a penguin at the bottom of a page or a sunbird flying towards the spine, as well as a host of postage stamps tumbling into formation and a few rogue gems, spotted fungi, glass vases and paper artefacts. Louise has excelled in the zine binding stakes and is, herself, working on a new zine. A beautiful zine all about the Arctic and incorporating many of her beautiful ice landscapes and cold-loving animals.

Hmmm, I'll ponder upon that subscription idea of yours, Lottie... sounds like it could be a great idea to set into motion. Yes, I like the sounds of it very much.

Enjoy your evening, or your day,
g xo
