Brown bears, green peas... another week begins.
Monday night has me…
- Shelling and eating raw peas by the handful.
- Longing to submerge myself, loose myself, in yet another film (seven to go before the week is out).
- Wrapping hammer & daisy orders to take with me to the Post Office tomorrow.
- In full awareness of my sides, post yoga class this morning.
- All over the place. A little disjointed, thinking about the day that’s been, what’s coming tomorrow, and thinking about Phillipa’s Raspberry Jam which I plan on enjoying liberally spread on toast for breakfast several hours from now.
I’ve been, of late, rediscovering my love of porridge with rhubarb, and, completely unconnected, falling asleep to The Ink Spots, Java Jive… every evening it seems to weasel its way in there. More morning than evening to me, nonetheless, come nightfall, it can often be found whirling about in my head.
Oh, slip me a slug from the wonderful mug
And I cut a rug till I'm snug in a jug
Drop me a nickel in my pot, Joe, Takin' it slow.
Waiter, waiter, percolator!
I love coffee, I love tea
I love the java jive and it loves me
Coffee and tea and the jivin' and me
A cup, a cup, a cup, a cup, a cup!
And this song is often in my head when I wake… as is this one, Ushti Baba.

{Don't mind me, just passing through.}
I am…
- Eagerly awaiting an arrival of a parcel from Abigail.
- Feeling quiet.
- Wishing I was “spending the first half of August in the foothills of the Pyrénées” like Lotte, namely because it is fun to say aloud.
- Loving traveling through Astrid’s photoblog.
- Willing a bag of fresh green peas to last a little longer (they are a favourite snack of mine).
- Finding it impossible to go a day without a small taste of chocolate.
- Feeling at a loss for words.
- Still very much in the visual world of Half Moon. Crossing borders on a journey to Iraq… care to see too? To hear the songs of 1334 women in exile? To cross the snow covered mountains?
- Smiling at the sight of this.
- And happy to see this post of Mav’s WHY I'M LUCKY {THREE}, and my image here (as part of Books 07: Works of Imagination).
Today I am also pleased to show you a new collaborative image, You know this isn’t the way home, don’t you? created with Louise... the other half in a pair to First time ever I saw you (Antarctica). Here a lone fisherman returns from the sea. Should you see him, do point him in the direction of home for me.

{You know this isn’t the way home, don’t you?}
More soon, friends.

i find i am always nodding my head while reading your posts. :)
love the new collaboration!

Mmmm...fresh peas. I've been pulling them off the trellis in the garden and eating them as I walk around - so yummy!
Love the Gogol Bordello song!!

peas peas peas peas peas... somehow they go well with bears. And badgers. Good call.

Why it's good to know that while i'm sleeping my dear old badger {which appears adhered to "II I still don't trust them"} goes for a wander and gets temporarily transported, "passing through" other locations. A very 'linked' post this time, lots of goodies to click on, and now the Ink spots are stuck in my head too! I've tried many times to eat fresh peas from their pods, i always end up squishing my face in reaction to the seeming bitter flavour.... I've happily resorted to snow peas! Hope the film last night was good! My opening was very nice indeed, it's a shame events can clash at times!xx

Thanks, Lisa S.
Since posting this new collaborative image, LJ & I have had to make it up as a digital file to scale, ready to print. Cutting out those under the sea forms proved much easier than the bristly monkey tail in the companion piece to this one. We swapped the monkey around at the eleventh hour and went with a grey monkey looking out at you in place of the little ginger one, added a few things here and removed a few things there, but finally got there in the end... phew. Deadlines... yikes!
Hi there, Tiffany. Green with envy at the idea of being able to walk about your garden handpicking the tastiest of tasty peas from your trellis. Sounds nothing short of idyllic to me. Enjoy 'em!
Thanks, Paula... you know I feel the very same way about your posts and your words too, don't you?
Peas, peas, peas, all green and always raw and by the handful. I'd quite forgotten our shared love of peas, Jac. Happy snacking.
Hi there Brydie,
So looking forward to getting down to see your exhibition in the coming days... it's always a shame when events clash, isn't it? By the time we sashayed out of the Regent, post Lights in the Dusk, we'd missed your opening celebrations. I'm sure your night was a hoot, and LJ & I are both so keen to see it. (Trust that wise badger to be off wandering and travelling whilst one sets up a show, eh? When not in the company of owls he is off exploring on those four small clawed feet.)
Hi Tommy,
Here's a little peek at the earrings I ordered from Abigail, and best of all, I've had word they are on the way... yay!

Hi there Fliss,
It was, it was. I really enjoyed Half Moon... it was so very beautiful. And the music... the scenery... loved it. Sadly my bag of peas were in the fridge awaiting me upon my return... not that I think I'd have been able to chew them during the film, noise aside, I spent much of the movie with a lump in my throat. If you can get a chance to see this movie, do.
(I saw, and said hello to, one of your penguins at Craft Vic the other day... wonderful!)
Enjoy those Ink Spots and other musical companions, Amisha. And I'm glad you liked these postcards too... I need to make some new collages works, it's been a little too long since I made some new ones. Best sharpen my small handled scissors and get back to it, hey? That said, a little break has been super beneficial. With spring now nipping at the heels, I'm feeling more and more like making some new pieces. Thanks for the encouragement.
Sure thing, Sophie Bond. I'm already thinking about getting a full pass to the 2008 festival and taking the 19 days off... 19 days of films, films, films. Tomorrow I am seeing four in a row... wish me luck!
Thanks, Shari. So good to hear. These new collaborative pieces were a bit of a stumble for us both at the beginning. I'll show you a few more detailed grabs next post... that is, after I take you with me to the movies... wink, wink.
Me too, me too, me too, e. See you there!
take care, g xo
