Before I head off to the Melbourne Museum to catch the exhibition Birds of Paradise (which features sixty-plus bird specimens native to the rainforests of Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and northern Australia), I thought I'd share with you a Sunday morning look at Gracia and my new zine, Beneath the screen of closed eyelids.
This new zine of ours features the black and white postcards in their original state before I embellished the sky with a sunset and made the grass green and the sea blue. It works similar to a before and after, a small look at our working process. The artists' book of the same name (which was exhibited as part of Charms of the Gloaming, 2012) is now in the collection of the State Library of New South Wales, but you can, for $8, pick up a copy of this new zine for 2013.
An edition of 60, you can purchase Beneath the screen of closed eyelids here.
(Thank-you for your recent zine orders of Lunch and other titles, friends.)
Off to spend what remains of the morning learning about feathers, dancing, decoration and symbolism.
Birds of Paradise is on until the 3rd of February. (Be quick!)
And, don't forget,
