There is a sea of tiny riders before me. They all need painting in their various colours red, blue, black, orange, yellow, white, and green. Some need a yellow hammer and sickle, others need the stars and stripes. Some are only undercoat, flesh tone and a first coat of red. In total, there are 47 to paint. May as well be 47,000.
These riders are bound for a hobby store near the Camberwell train station. If I am lucky, I will have them finished this week. Complete with their silver bike details and rosy cheeks. In the meantime, I thought you'd like to see a look at the process. The slow process.
(A look at riders painted earlier in the year. These ones are the modern bikes. They were less fiddly to paint but not nearly as handsome as these old style ones with their flat inner arms and legs.)
Canada, New Zealand, USA, Ireland, France, Sweden, Australia, England, Japan, Russia, Italy, Scotland. Who will I finish first?
