Back now to my workbench where I am making a new series of clay birds. It is early days yet and I hope soon to have something to share with you. I am working on a gathering of house sparrows first up and they are rewarding thus far. I say gathering, but it should really be called a host of sparrows.
Other collective nouns I fancy:

a muster of peacocks
a building of rooks
an exaltation of larks
a rasp of guineafowl
a charm of goldfinches
and a kit of pigeons (when flying)
