These are two shell masks from Manfredo Settala’s (1600–1680) own cabinet of curiosities. They are two recent works of mine and they shall sit alongside a 16th century German automaton of Neptune seated upon a tortoise and an owl made of gold, enamel, agate and diamonds (made in Dresden before 1718).
These are but a few things I've collected (from library book) and drawn. They will soon appear in Gracia and my exhibition, A Key to Help Make Your Own World Visible.
We install in under a month. There is still so much to do and it is getting pretty exciting. The lead up is one busy high.
