Here is a little taste of a new collaborative work made by Gracia and me. It is for Milly Sleeping for an exhibition called Borrow. We have made our version of an Egyptian broad collar from the Old kingdom, late Dynasty 5, 2150 BC.
Borrow is one of two exhibitions initiated by Milly Sleeping for the Cultural Program of LMFF 09.
A collection of wearable items by local designers and artists will inhabit the stairwell at Off the Kerb. Visitors to the gallery will be invited to try on the works, and wear their favourite piece/s as they tour the space. By adopting something new - something curious and foreign - the audience may experience how mood and behaviour, and ways of relating to environment, are affected by what they are wearing.
Borrow will be a playful partner to Milly Sleeping’s in-store exhibition, I Feel Fine.
