Rats (Edo period (1770-1820), Japan, a netsuke made of ivory)
The fox and the hare has made its return for the new year of 2009 with nothing less than a colony of dashing rats. Head there and you will see some beauties by Elaine and what I think are a pretty special series by Gracia. You can also see a few more additional works from this series here.
I shall leave you now my friends as I must return to my position on the couch with an icepack on my head as I read the catalogue from the Magnificence of the Tsars: Ceremonial Men’s Dress of the Russian Imperial Court 1721-1917 from the V&A. After two days of extreme heat and with two more to follow, I’m feeling a little like Manny in this episode of Black Books.
