sweets party

Louise_jennison_sweets_6

I’m not sure if I’ve over catered… noooo, who am I kidding? There is no such thing as over catering when it comes to sweets. So, here I am, all ready for Wendy’s sweets party.

I’ve brought along with me pudding, cake, pudding, jellies, pudding, tarts and more pudding.

Everyone who knows me well, knows that I’m a sweet tooth. I think I have inherited it from my Dad, who always reads the dessert menu before choosing his main course. Tiramisu, a chocolate eclair or crème caramel; just some of his favourites.

I thought of also bringing along a novelty cake, but in the end I thought a roly-poly pudding would be a much better choice.

When I think of decorated cakes I immediately think of this, the Australian Womans Weekly Children's Birthday Cake Book. I think, over the course of my childhood, I made up most off the cakes featured with my Dad, including the train, the pool, the cat and the farm (was there a farm or is my memory playing a trick on me?)... Did anyone else have this book?

I also thought of bringing along a few of my favourite cupcakes, but since I’ve shared them with you before I thought everyone would enjoy some variety instead.

And now if you want a real sweet thrill, head on over to GH's posting today for more candy, more pie and more sugar.

Oh my goodness, it's lunchtime over here and I'm sitting here drooling over the beauty of your desserts, I'll have to make sure no one is looking while I dig in :)

wow. such wonderful sweets. i think i'd love a bite of the first treat. you could feed the whole blogging community with this haul. ;) looks delicious. xox

so do you read the dessert menu first too...like your dad?
I so love that. I should do that more often!!
thank you for the delicious treats!

i can't decide which one to try first! maybe i'll have a small piece of each. :)

Your cakes and other goodies for the sweet party are amazing! I wouldn't know which one to choose!!

Just come over from Gracia's and I had so many cakes and sweets...but really I can't resist these beauties.

The pudding with the holly is killing me... oh, they are from another world. I wish it was mine.

this is ridiculously adorable.

Very lovely, Louise! I don't have much of a sweet tooth myself, but I do love looking at the beauty of sweets!

those sweets
are amazing...
can't wait
to try them
but i am
so late
{as usual}
to the party
and
they are
probably
all eaten up!
xo

now i want dessert!!!

i especially love your pie illustration :)

i used to have a huge sweet tooth, i mean i would do anything for chocolate. i ate almost the entire pan of brownies in a day whenever my dad baked them! i would buy a 3 pack of these muffins that were HUGE and eat them all in one sitting...a box of chocolates didn't stand a chance in my house. get it? well, my taste buds changed about a year ago and now i hardly ever think about sweets! isn't that so strange? i thought it was. it's good though, because now i love veggies and other healthy foods, hehe :)

hi Louise, you are nominated for the thinking bloggers award!!!!! Thanks for being you!!

:) over catered, hehe...i say, never too much of a good thing when it comes to celebrations! xo

constant craving :)

what a decadent assortment of treats... i am so sorry to have missed the sweets party but i will enjoy this a bit belatedly, as my stomach grumbles at this noon hour and i dream of this amazing collection of cake and pastry goodness.
xo

My Dad also passed his sweet tooth on to me. Dad's favourite used to be Rocky road- which is too much even for me. But I continue the Garson sweet tradition with a love of cream buns- this was fostered by my early years at the school tuckshop. I hope to pass the pleasures of a real cream bun onn to my girls.
